So much has changed in real estate sales over the past 5 years – especially with all of the technology that is now available to assist in marketing homes. But I would argue that one of the biggest changes in real estate sales is due to the huge popularity of HGTV.

HGTV not only has programs to help with creative ideas to decorate a home but they also have programs such as “House Hunters,” “20 Ways to Add Value to Your Home,” “Designed to Sell” and “Get it Sold.” These programs, and others just like them, are great tutorials on how to effectively prepare a house for sale. The best part is that people in the Tri State area not only watch these shows, but they also take them to heart and the end result has been homes that are staged and show better than ever.

A few years ago, Realtors would work with customers on cleanliness, lighting and availability of homes for showings. This process is much more extensive today. Many homeowners are actively working in conjunction with their Realtor to stage their homes for sale in order to gain a competitive advantage over the competition. The great news about this is that it works!

So, if you’re thinking about making a move in the near future, you might want to check out HGTV for some great tips on getting your home ready to sell. Then as the time approaches, call your favorite F.C. Tucker Emge sales associate to let them assist you in staging your home for sale.
