If you’re newly engaged, you might be excited to get some engagement pictures to help showcase your love. Aside from your significant other (and yourself), the second most important thing in the picture is the background. Fret not, we have compiled a list of the most beautiful places to snap your engagement pictures this fall.

Brown County State Park

To be honest, with the trees looking the way they do, you’ll be hard pressed to find an area in Indiana that’s not looking top notch gorgeous. However, to increase the photo opportunities with just one stop, you can check out Brown County State Park. Not only is this park Indiana’s largest state park, but it is nicknamed the “Little Smokies” due to its resemblance to the Great Smokie Mountains. So, impress your Facebook and Instagram friends by staging a beautiful, mountainous photo shoot with your engagement photographer.

New Harmony

A local treasure, New Harmony State Park is beautiful year-round, so imagine just how especially breath-taking it will be with the fall foliage! Aside from its close and convenient location, there are plenty of photo opportunities at places such as the Roofless Church, Labyrinth, Harmonie State Park, and honestly just the quaint streets in general.

Garden of the Gods

I’ve been seeing quite a few engagement shoots take place here and, I’ve got to say, they look pretty phenomenal. Stand up on a (safe) rock with a sea of color behind you and your beloved and let your friends “ooh” and “ahh” at how perfect your pictures are.

Downtown Evansville

Downtown Evansville is a photogenic area with its brick roads and picturesque historic houses. With such a variety of beautiful backdrops, including the river, Main Street, and Hayine’s Corner, this is a picture-perfect place right in your own backyard (so to speak) to bring your photographer for an engagement shoot.

Historic Newburgh

Historic Newburgh is another beautiful area that is a perfect, easy location for an engagement session. Aside from the architecture beautiful architecture, the streets are charming, and the scenic Riverwalk provides a great variety for your photo shoot.

Oliver Winery (or any winery)

As a wine-lover, the appeal of having a photoshoot at a winery is pretty obvious, but most wineries are also very photo-worthy. Oliver Winery—located in Bloomington—is only a short hour drive from Washington and two hours from Evansville.

Any Orchard

What says “we love fall” more than an engagement shoot at an orchard? Like wineries, it’s probably hard to pick the wrong orchard because almost all of them have a beauty to them. There are numerous orchards located that are close enough to make a day trip out of. Some of our favorites are Lakeview Orchard in Rockport, IN, Hubers Orchard & Winery in Starlight, IN, and Reids Orchard in Owensboro, KY. Can’t go wrong with any of them!
