When looking for the perfect reception venue, there are a lot of various things to consider, such as: how many guests are coming? Is it important to me for this place to provide catering? Is there room for a dance floor? What’s my budget? How private do I want this to be? What kind of view do I want? Then, of course, there’s parking, acoustics, lighting, and number of available outlets to consider as well. We’ve narrowed down a few of the top spots for receptions in the Tristate area.

Bauerhaus

The Bauerhaus is not recognized as one of the “Best Places for a Wedding Reception” for no reason. With a stunning ballroom, estate, and garden, this location is ideal for those who dream of having an elegant reception. The venue itself can hold up to 550 guests, and the Baurhaus provides everything ranging from catering, decorations, DJ, and specialty lighting if you choose to elect any of these options.

Kokies Echo Valley

Kokies is a very charming venue with excellent catering. In 2018, Kokies was awarded two platinum Courier & Press Reader’s Choice Awards for “Best Reception Venue” and “Caterer.” The lake outside is scenic and ideal for an outdoor reception, while the establishment itself  is perfect for those couples seeking a rustic feel for their reception.

Sweet Water Event Venue

Among one of the many perks to hosting your reception at Sweet Water, is the ample amount of hotels within walking distance from the facility. There’s a decent chance people will be having a few drinks (unless you’re opting for a dry reception, of course), so having a few hotels within walking distance is ideal. The set-up, break-down, and clean-up come as perks to the rental fee as well, and the all-weather patio and main floor combined can accommodate up to 250 guests.

Evansville Country Club

When I think of Country Clubs, I immediately think of a fancy, exclusive facility for people with their lives together to hang out– aka places I personally don’t belong on a regular basis. Hosting a reception at a Country Club such as Evansville Country Club is a chance to enjoy and share a day of luxury with your guests. In case you’re wondering, you do not need to be a member to host your reception here as they (the team at ECC) will help you find a member to sponsor your wedding/reception.

Rolling Hills Country Club

Rolling Hills Country Club is an elegant, Newburgh-based country club that is perfectly suited for up to 250 guests. The wedding planners of this country club take pride in the beautiful landscape that serves as the backdrop to your special day and work hard to ensure things go smoothly.

New Harmony Inn

This romantic location is perfect for those seeking a small, intimate ceremony. With the amount of scenic, natural beauty of the captivating Swan Lake and luscious gardens, this is the perfect place for those dreaming of a fairytale wedding/reception.

Tropicana

If you have a lot of friends and family, then a spacious facility like the Tropicana may be perfect for you. Guests who are coming from out of town will appreciate the option to stay in the same building as your reception as well as the easy access to downtown Evansville. As you know, ambiance is everything for a wedding reception, and that is something Tropicana has in ample amounts.

Tanglewood Weddings & Events

Arguably one of the top places in the Tristate for your rustic, outdoor dream wedding, Tanglewood is an event barn that holds no pretenses. If you and your spouse-to-be are the outdoorsy, down-to-earth type, then this location might be perfect for you.

Farmer and Frenchman Winery

If you’ve visited Farmer and Frenchman Winery for their food and/or wine, then you already know it has a lot to offer. This winery is perfect for those couples who are looking for an idyllic, country setting for their wedding/reception. With three crystal chandeliers hung from the 1800 square foot Tobacco Barn, this location is the perfect mix between rustic and elegant.

The Corner House

For those dreaming of either an outdoor wedding or reception, you already know there’s a lot of extra stress about weather that comes along with planning it. The Corner House alleviates these fears and provides an alternative with their barn or willingness to set up a large white tent in the event the weather doesn’t cooperate with your plans. Aside from this flexibility, The Corner House is a beautiful bed and breakfast that is the perfect backdrop for your special day. Past couples have raved over how “above and beyond” the owners go to make your day the most special day of your life.
