Penny Lane Coffee House
Priding itself on its uniqueness, Penny Lane Coffeehouse is a hot spot for famous names such as President Bill Clinton and Walter McCarty to stop and visit as they pass through town. The owners were brought together by their mutual dream of having a coffee shop and since then their coffee brews are made with nothing but love. And if you love Ghirardelli Chocolate as much as most chocolate connoisseurs, then you’re going to really love Honey + Moon Coffee Co.’s Mocha.
Lucid
Next time you are in the Newburgh area, make a stop at a local favorite, Lucid. Lucid uses only the freshest of beans and filtered water in order to serve its customers the best cup of coffee. If you’re into dark coffee then we bet you’ll especially enjoy the Guatemala with its deep, roasted flavor infused with hints of citrus and marshmallow.
River City Coffee + Goods
Voted Best Gift Shop by the Courier and Press, River City Coffee + Goods truly does “got the goods.” Stop by and enjoy a taste of a seasonal favorite called the Americola, which is a blend of vanilla syrup, Mexican coke, a double espresso, and topped off with a cherry.
White Swan Coffee Lab
Located right off West Franklin Street, White Swan Coffee Lab serves up some of the best espressos and specialty coffees in the area. The atmosphere of the coffee shop alone is enough to bring you back for a second visit, but the coffee brewed there (such as the lavender vanilla iced latte and hickory smoked caramel iced latte) will make you want to add this little coffee shop to your daily routine.
The Daily Grind
If you are a Friends fan, then you’re going to love the name of their House Specialty: The Central Perk. Heck, even if you’re not a fan of that particular 90s sitcom, you’ll probably still love this sweet espresso. The Daily Grind also offers vegan and non-dairy options for those wanting a flavored coffee while maintaining their lifestyle.
Donut Bank Bakery & Coffee Shop
Sometimes I try to imagine something better than coffee with a donut and my mind draws a blank, and no one does the donut/coffee combo better than Evansville’s local Donut Bank Bakery & Coffee Shop. Even fitness enthusiasts can find a coffee that fits easily into their lifestyle with the Fit Frappe that includes 20 grams of protein, 5 grams of sugar, and only 130 calories. Flavors come in Mocha, Vanilla, Vanilla Latte, and Chocolate.
Proper Coffee Roasters
A favorite stop for locals, many claim that Proper Coffee Roasters has the best coffee in town and makes the most beautiful coffee art. You can find this little gem inside Eastland Mall, and a new Roasting Room will be opening in downtown Evansville next spring.
Planters Café and Coffee Bar
Last, but certainly not least, we have to recommend Planters Café and Coffee Bar. Planters is the oldest coffee shop in the tristate and proof of their experience is in the product. Originating in Henderson, Planters recently relocated its talents and delicious menu to the east side of Evansville. Stop in at this little coffee shop on a Saturday to wind down and enjoy live music with close friends and a latte!
