Here in the Tri-State, we love our community, and part of being in a community is loving your neighbors. So, on that note, we want to dedicate a community spotlight to the beautiful Daviess County by highlighting a few of their exciting upcoming events!
DAVIESS COUNTY MUSEUM ON MAIN ST. “KIDS KLUB”
On the first Saturday of every month, the Daviess County Museum hosts a Kids Klub program featuring stories, games, and snacks for students K-5. The September theme this year is “The Circus Comes to Town,” and the cost for participation is absolutely free!

INDIANA THEATER
This Labor Day weekend, the Indiana Theater in Washington, IN will feature “Sherlock Gnomes” as a free event for kids! Whether you are already in the area or not, this is an opportunity you might want to take advantage of.

LABOR DAY FESTIVITIES AT WEST BOGGS PARK
Make a day trip (or weekend camping trip) to West Boggs Park this Labor Day weekend to enjoy a host of festivities! The event will feature s’mores, beach games, and cardboard regatta! And if you’re like me and are asking yourself, “What’s cardboard regatta?” It’s building a boat out of cardboard to be judged and racing your project on the water. The racing will be on September 1st!

WHITE RIVER VALLEY ANTIQUE SHOW
Take a step back in time and visit the 34th annual White River Valley Antique Show to admire their collection of antique trucks and steam engines. The fairgrounds will also include horse demonstrations, a woodworking shop, hand-dipped candles, and a large flea market this year.

DAVIESS COUNTY TURKEY TROT FESTIVAL
Join Ruritan Park in the Turkey Trot Festival, featuring turkey races, pig wrestling, concerts, Bingo, tractor pulls, and live entertainment! An admission ticket includes unlimited free carnival rides as well! High Valley will perform live entertainment on both Friday and Saturday, and Tracy Lawrence will perform Saturday night!

5TH ANNUAL CHANDELIER BARN MARKET
If you have an interest in antique, hand-painted, and one-of-a-kind furniture, then you might have to make a stop at the Chandelier Barn Market in Montgomery, IN. Live music will be provided by American Pie Unplugged this year, and children’s book illustrator, Joni Walker will be there painting watercolor art on both Friday and Saturday!
